Who we are

Built by two people who've lived the problem.

We're home DIYers ourselves, and we've lived the gap Spetz is built to close firsthand: the moment a video makes a project look effortless, and the reality of actually building it turns out to be a different story entirely. Between us, we bring over two decades of combined experience building AI, machine learning, and data products that create real value for consumers, most recently founding and leading Fiverr's AI, ML, and Algorithms department together. When we looked at a problem we'd been living with for years as builders ourselves, and the exact kind of technology we knew how to build, the answer was obvious: we were the ones who had to solve this, for the community that needs it. That's Spetz.

Yuval Ben Zion

Co-Founder & CEO

Yuval spent 8 years at Fiverr, most recently as Senior Director of AI and Data Science, where he founded and built the company's AI, ML, and Algorithms department from the ground up. Before that, he worked across a series of consumer-focused startups, always centered on creating value through data and machine learning. He holds an MSc in AI & Data Science from Tel Aviv University. Outside of work, Yuval's number one hobby is home DIY, he's been fixing and building things around the house for years, and it's that firsthand experience with the gap between watching a project and actually finishing one that helped inspire Spetz.

Tom Cohen

Co-Founder & CTO

Tom spent 7.5 years at Fiverr, where he was a founding member and team leader of the AI and Algorithms department, growing it from the ground up into one of the company's core engineering functions. He's spent years since as an AI and data leader across consumer-focused startups, with an MSc in AI & Data Science from Tel Aviv University grounding the technical side of that experience. As Spetz's CTO, Tom is turning that depth into the systems that actually make Spetz work, a hands-on builder that focus on where Spetz is headed and who it's for.

Yuval and Tom have been friends for over 15 years and colleagues for 8 of them, first at Tel Aviv University, then building Fiverr's AI organization together. Spetz is the next thing they're building side by side.
